Hi Inga,
I hope you made it through the night without losing your power again! We've had a sunny afternoon, but the temperatures have dropped tonight and we have a blanket of mist hanging in the valleys. In parts the mist is really thick, like a heavy fog.(I'm a typical English person - talking about the weather!)
Do you know I feel cold just looking at those photos. Those icicles jogged my memory though. When we had hard winters in the early 1950's us kids would snap off an icicle from wherever we could reach.....and suck them. Flavourless ice lollies I suppose.
Sid, I remember doing that too. Bet this is what your mam said ..... "Don't suck those icicles, you'll make your mouth sore!"
Inga, I hope you weather the storm before too long. I know you don't believe me but, it's often that bad in Dipton! Once you get past Burnopfield it's a different climate up here. There's snow on the way on Sunday apparently.
Does anyone know what Ian meant on Wednesday morning when he said that we hadn't heard the last of him? The suspense is killing!
I've looked at the link Sid sent us, it's a very serious situation for Inga..... many times worse than I had thought when I first saw her pictures. Apparently, it's going to continue for several days yet, it's dreadful.
