Murphy & Dora are the mini mascots of Radio Newcastle's 'Nightshift' who enjoy sending postcards from their travels to radio presenter, Ian Robinson. murphyanddorastravels.blogspot.com has become a sister blog to Ian's own blog, truckshunters.blogspot.com. Please note that neither blog is associated with the BBC. They are purely social network blogs for like-minded folk. We welcome new friends into our network to read and use both blogs.

Vivienne, thanks so much for posting the photos.
1. The first photograph is of me with my only brother,Robert. It is difficult to tell you just how precious this picture is. Robert has recently been diagnosed with a serious and life-threatening illness. That was difficult too, to actually put it into words. He was 57 years old yesterday and has always been the lovliest brother anyone could ever wish to have. He lives in Stockton with his wife and family. He has a battle on his hands at the moment and believe me he is fighting mighty hard. I had been led to believe that he couldn't make it for my birthday night out, so you can imagine my surprise when he and his family walked into the restaurant.
2. Picture 2 is of me with my daughter Kelly. She lives in Manchester and was responsible for organising the night out for me. She drove up from Manchester with a boot full of helium ballons and a birthday cake. I never saw them till the big night, she had dropped them at a friend's house - and my friend had gone early to the restaurant to take them up.
3. Picture 3 is of Ross (my nephew), Liam (my son), Robert (my nephew), Robert (my brother), and Tim (our Kelly's boyfriend).
4. Picture 4 - Rhona, Ann, Chris, me, Margaret and Trish ... all friends for a long time now.
5. Picture 5 is of Mary (my sister), Robert (my brother), me
- AND you can see Robert's lovely wife, Valerie, in the background.
Hope you all haven't nodded off!
Thought you may as well know who everyone is! xx
Hi Hildie,
Thanks so much for letting everyone know who's who. I didn't like to add any names when I posted your photos in case you wanted your family and friends kept private.
I'm so sorry to hear about your brother's illness. He looks a lovely guy. I hope he wins his battle. I understand why your picture with Robert is so special.
Sorry, have put a comment this afternoon on wrong post, Vivienne. I've strayed onto the Beamish post!
