Hello Friends!

Welcome to our blog. Please read the opening chapters of our Halloween Story on the previous page and in its Comments Box. We'd love you to help develop the story line by adding your contributions to the same page.

We've posted a new page so you may continue chatting without worrying about compromising the story. We're looking forward to seeing the story unfold. Remember, it is your story as well as ours. Who is going to plunge in next?

Hi Folks,

I just tuned in at the right time tonight. Ian was in the middle of reading your email Maureen. He reported that your Victoria Hall Memorial photos were posted on this blog. Ian also referred to his own blog(truckshunters.blogspot.com) and said we should keep our eyes peeled, but wasn't saying anymore!!! Wow!!! Success Maureen, congratulations!!!

Ian then read out your email to Tom Rhodes in Maryland, Inga. I hope you heard him as he pretended to be you, and tried to put on a Southern accent! (Incidently I was aware there used to be five Beatles. In fact I have an EP which I bought in Switzerland, when I was on a school trip, aged 16, which was produced in France. Although Tony Sheridan was very much part of the Beatles at that time, and mentioned on the reverse of the record cover, only the Fab Four's photos are displayed on the front cover. The titles on the EP are 'When the Saints' 'Cry for a Shadow' 'My Bonnie' & 'Why.')

Ian then, very kindly, offered to pass on messages to anyone who wanted to get in touch with other listeners.

Good Morning Folks!

And it is a Good Morning. Ian's finally reappeared on Truckshunters! I can't get into his new Comments Box as I guess everyone else is trying to do so too! For any of you who don't know Ian's blog address it's:

truckshunters.blogspot.com

Please take a look as we'll be posting comments on both sites.

Love, Vivienne xxx

Guess you all noticed the day Ian chose for the new posting!

SID, if you have time why don't you "present" Ian with the BITFOOO award on behalf all of us.

Well now, after all of the excitment of today can we all settle down now please? (Miss B Hayve we need you!)
I'm sorry to say that I didn't hear Ian discuss my email this morning, but if it helped to bring him back, I am well satisfied!
Inga, I wish you'd heard Ians' 'southern drawl' why, I thought he'd smuggled Clark Gable into the studio! One of the listeners text in (Pam, I'm afraid I've forgotten where from, sorry!)to ask Ian to repeat it on the live section as she'd never heard such an awful American accent. Being a good sport he read out your email with as many "y'alls" as he could possibly fit in. What a laugh!, I should have known that it was going to be a good day from then on.
Murphy and Dora, I promise to settle down now and think about the Halloween story. Gilly, we need you there as well!

Here comes the second instalment of the Facts Of Life, I heard Ian reading some this morning, so he must be ahead by now. I also heard Loz, our Speedway superstar, and Mike Parr mentioned a man with a Siberian Dumbo rat and I wondered who that could be, although I'm afraid I didn't hear it?

11) You never know where to look when eating a banana.
12) It's impossible to describe the smell of a wet cat.
13) Prodding a fire with a stick makes you feel manly.
14) Rummaging in an overgrown garden will always turn up a bouncy ball.
15) You always feel a bit scared when stroking horses.
16) Everyone always remembers the day a dog ran into your school.
17) The most embarrassing thing you can do as a schoolkid is to call your teacher mum or dad.
18) The smaller the monkey the more it looks like it would kill you at the first given opportunity.
19) Some days you see lots of people on crutches.
20) Every bloke has at some stage while taking a pee flushed half way through and then raced against the flush.

Vivienne, that's a lovely pic of Etal. Its been a while since we were last there. I wonder if the post office is still operating.

Hi Sid,

Thanks for your kind words about my Etal photo. I can't remember where the post office is situated, so can't confirm whether it's still open. Sorry! I was looking for colourful trees to photograph. I also went to see the swing bridge, which I'd last seen years ago. I have some old cine film of my younger sister trying to walk across the bridge, but she was stumbling all over. There was no sign of the bridge at all. Goodness knows when it was removed.

I also drove into Ford. the village, not the ford at Etal! On my way I stopped to photograph an attractive meadow with pretty trees and cattle. The whole herd walked across the meadow towards me. I was pleased there was a fence between us, although they did seem friendly. However, one or two were mooing their heads off. Maybe they thought I was going to feed them!

Hi Maureen,

Sorry, I forgot to thank you for posting the second batch of your 'Facts of Life.'

Writers! I was hoping the Halloween Story would be ready for tomorrow night. There's still time if everyone adds a bit.

I heard Simon Hogan tonight saying that the Marsden Grotto was one of the two most haunted pubs in the North East of England.
