Murphy & Dora are the mini mascots of Radio Newcastle's 'Nightshift' who enjoy sending postcards from their travels to radio presenter, Ian Robinson. murphyanddorastravels.blogspot.com has become a sister blog to Ian's own blog, truckshunters.blogspot.com. Please note that neither blog is associated with the BBC. They are purely social network blogs for like-minded folk. We welcome new friends into our network to read and use both blogs.

Well I never. There was me feeling really sorry that she'd 'gone', and now she turns up out of the blue.
So, I wonder where she's been?
Hi Sid,
I was really upset when I failed to see my little friend during my previous two visits. I learned that she'd been shut in the Learning Room on one occasion, although I'd actually looked in there on one of the days I was at Gibside, and she wasn't in there that day!
I think she's been spending more time outside with the wild birds. Before going home on Tuesday she was fascinated with something in the shrubs downhill from her hutch. The friendly robin was nearby and other birds were singing close by. Gertie came to me for bird food when I produced the food bag, and that's when I took her photos. I was hoping the robin would come down for food too, but it flew off when our two international students appeared on the scene. The students have been looking after Gertie as part of their duties.
You can't imagine my delight when Gertie reappeared on Tuesday. I hope she can keep away from the fox, and dogs too. Apparently a dog nearly caught her the other day!
