Lovely picture again Vivienne. It reminds me of my childhood, free ice lollies. Who needed flavour!

Thanks Sid,

Most of the icicles disappeared overnight during the slight thaw. I could here them dropping from the guttering every now and then.

We used to enjoy sucking the icicles too. They always seemed such a treat!

I was hoping I wouldn't be needed at Gibside today, but Renwick's was open as usual. Actually I quite enjoyed my day, although I didn't have any of the adventures I experienced on Tuesday! I accepted the offer of a lift this time, instead of attempting the hill again. I was careful not to slip on the icy cobbles again too. I still have bruises on my knee and chin! I was really, really lucky as I was sure I was going to fracture my jaw again!

The only down side to today was that my worst fears were realized about the two little black male chickens. I couldn't see them on Tuesday - only a large number of black feathers in their compound. The poor hen is back on her own again. I didn't dare let her out of her hutch, as their were so few Visitors on the estate that the greedy fox could have crept back to get her. She came out into the compound when I called, and was keen to eat the bird food I'd taken in for her.

I'll post the photos I took of the Chicks last weekend. They were joined by a friendly robin, which flew down to share the bird seed.
