I've managed to remove the glue from my hair and scalp, so it's no longer pulling against my wound, which I can now see with the aid of a couple of mirrors. The cut is about two thirds of an inch long. I must have good healing flesh as I now feel 100% well.
I've completed and submitted the form I was sent to try to regain access to my Hotmail, I'll keep the account and change the password, as I have so much mail stored which I may need in future. However, I'm now using my Googlemail account, following advice from Ian.

I'm pleased that you are making a good recovery Vivienne and I must admit to being wary of opening your email until I realised that it was a googlemail address!
